RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
TSOHA ST, ATHENS

The site is situated at the junction of Tsoha and Papadopoulou Sts. On the east it is adjacent to the Byzantine Church of All Saints, the katholikon (main church) of a monastery of the 10th - 12th century, which was restored by Orlandos.
The composition was based on the relation of the building with the church, which is 2.50 m. lower down. An optimal solution was judged to be to recess the building from Tsocha St and provide open space, leaving the view of the church open.
Two off-white panels are the main features composing the building’s elevations. As complements, on the elevation on Tsoha St, two smaller surfaces of deep red paint fill in the bearing structure of unplastered reinforced concrete.
