LANDSCAPE DESIGN HIGHLIGHTING THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL
EXCAVATIONS AT MYTILENE

The preliminary design concerns the approaches, the landscaping of the open-air areas and the shelters, the purpose being to highlight the archaeological excavations at Epano Skala, Mytilene. The Proposed Master Plan includes designs for the layout of space, and housing for the projection of the antiquities in Nikomideias St, the Sanctuary of Cybele, the ëAkromolií, the ëTeichosí (Agios Nikolaos), and the ëYephyraí (Yeni Cami).
The new constructions ñ interventions are marked by a unified style and are in modern materials.
In this way attention is drawn to the vast extent and importance of Hellenistic Mytilene through constructions scattered throughout the fabric of the present-day city.
