OPHTHALMOLOGY INSTITUTE
OF ATHENS

This is a preliminary study for a three storey building with two underground car parking levels, planned to host an ophthalmological clinic (sanitariums, surgery rooms, auditoria and a ground floor optician’s shop).
The building, situated at the promonent corner of Katehaki and Arianeiou st., strengthens its presence in the urban landscape due to a curved perforated insulating and solar radiation controling facade. Small square openings in the colors of the rainbow shine during the night.
The northern facade is covered with climbing plants, enhancing the "green" behavior of the building. Various modern environmental protective and energy saving technologies are applied.
